Ingredients:
For the Chocolate Cake:
- 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 and 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 and 1/4 cups buttermilk
For the Cherry Filling:
- 2 cups pitted and halved fresh cherries (or canned cherry pie filling)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
For the Whipped Cream:
- 1 cup heavy cream, chilled
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Loaf Pan:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
2. Make Chocolate Cake:
In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

5. Whip the Cream:
In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
